Shulker Boxes - a warning

I know most people are fully aware of the risks, but just wanted to warn people to take care of their Shulker Boxes.

Having slaved for literally hours, I had a nice shulk box full of Red Sandstone - if you've ever tried to build with it, you know what a frakking pain in the arse that was to collect. There were a few other items in there too, that I needed for my current building thing at San Stone.

So I dropped the box, removed Those Items, then broke the box again, and headed off on my workings. three or four days later game-time, I finished most of my building works so went to deposit Those Items and... no shulker box.

I guess that I had filled my inventory when I removed the items, without noticing, and so the shulker box stayed floating on the ground for the usual time until it simply vanished.

What i lost was annoying, but considering Those Items are my enchanted to bejaysis and back diamond mining kit plus armor, it could have been way, way worse.

So, watch out for your shulker boxes and, be careful out there.

Oh, and if Mojang were to give us Red Sandstone Mountains in the same manner as regular Sandstone Mountains, that would be awesome

Just had something similar happen.I was at the iron farm and had a skulker chest full of iron blocks. I had sat there for several hours collecting the stuff. Placed it in the chest. Also gathered some redstone and glowdust from the witch farm. Returned to spawn and everything crashed. Returned to the game and all three skulker chests were gone from my inventory. Returned to the iron farm in hopes it might be there but sadly it was all gone. Very frustrating as I lost about 8 hours of work gathering those materials. Like you Daniel - I was lucky none of my high-end tools were in the chest.

Okay I must becoming really senile. I had all but given up hope of seeing these chests. I was heading to the spawn portal via the nether. At the entrance to my tunnel to my nether portal I have several chests built into the wall. As I was passing I decided to make sure there wasn't anything of value in there. Guess what I found? As I mentioned above - I was no where near the nether when the crash occured. When I logged back on to the server I was at my save spot (which at that time was my lighthouse location on the main map). I checked my inventory and the chests weren't there. I jumped through the nther and to spawn so I could return to the iron farm. I swear I never touched those chests until I found them. The strangest thing I have ever happen to me in minecraft.

The upside is that I have all my stuff back so I am not looking a gift horse in the mouth. Thank you minecraft gods for looking upon me :)
